The short version. Sprout does not collect personal information from anyone, child or adult. There is no account and no sign-in. Your child's name, their age, and everything they write stay on your device and are never uploaded.
Sprout is a handwriting app for young children, used with a grown-up nearby. Because it is meant for children, it is built so that there is no personal information to protect in the first place — which is a stronger guarantee than a promise to look after it carefully.
The app stores the following locally, using the operating system's standard app storage. None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Deleting the app removes all of it. There is also a Reset button on the grown-ups' screen, behind the parental gate, which erases every star and plant immediately.
Sprout works offline. It connects to the internet for two things only, and neither one sends us anything about your child:
Sprout is a subscription app. Payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see or receive card details, billing addresses, or your Apple Account.
To keep track of whether a subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous identifier created on the device, together with the purchase receipt Apple issues. It does not receive your child's name, age, progress, or anything else they have done in the app, and the identifier is not linked to any real-world identity.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device.
Sprout is designed to be used by children and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR's provisions on children's data. Because the app collects no personal information and transmits none off the device, there is nothing for a parent to request, correct, or have deleted from our systems — we hold no records about any user. Deleting the app deletes everything.
The grown-ups' area of the app, including settings and the reset control, sits behind a parental gate that asks a two-digit multiplication question, so a pre-reader cannot reach it by accident.
If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
